Welcome to the Spotting Category!

Please use this category to show aircraft you have spotted in the real world. This can be any and all types of aircraft ranging from the A380 through to seaplanes and helicopters. Please follow Forum rules and guidelines.


  1. Create one topic per spotting session, aircraft or event
  2. Give as much detail about the shots as possible. This can be the background to the aircraft, information about the location or any other related material such as camera type and set up
  3. Only post pictures you took yourself as the main body of the topic. If you are giving contextual background to the topic and use photos that are not your own, make sure to cite the image
  4. Please do not post requests spotting topics or specific photos of aircraft
  5. 10 pictures maximum per topic

Photo Quality

  • How much of the aircraft can you see?
  • Can you see the registration?
  • How pixelated is your photo if you are zoomed in a long way?
  • Is there any way to add to the post to enhance the topic if your photos are not the best quality?
